Hip-Hop's Power 30: Who Flexed the Most Muscle in '99?
Released in February 2000 (Issue #125), this massive special collector's edition of The Source features the annual "Power 30" ranking. To celebrate the two labels that completely dominated 1999, the magazine was released with two variant covers. This is Cover 1 of 2, featuring the late, great DMX representing the Ruff Ryders.
Hitting newsstands right after the monumental release of ...And Then There Was X, this cover story captures Earl Simmons at the absolute peak of his commercial dominance. The issue is a dense 2000s time capsule, featuring "The Year in Review" (Top 10 Artists and Biggest Albums of 1999), plus a deep dive into the Ruff Ryders and Cash Money family secrets. (Bonus: The back cover features a vintage 2000 advertisement for Tommy Hilfiger's 'Tommy' fragrance).
Condition Disclosure (Please Read Carefully):
