From Philly to Hollywood, But Is She Good?
Released in August 2002 (Issue #155), this vintage edition of The Source features Philadelphia's own Eve on the cover. Dropping exactly as the Ruff Ryders First Lady was making her massive crossover transition into Hollywood superstardom, this issue captures her navigating her expanding empire.
This issue is packed with prime 2000s cultural touchpoints. It features a check-in with Alicia Keys fresh off her 5-Grammy sweep, an interview with Swizz Beatz as he steps out as a solo artist, and a critical debate over Eminem's pursuit of a coveted 5-Mic rating. (Bonus: The back cover features a vintage 2002 advertisement for Nike Sphere Technology featuring James Blake).
Condition Disclosure (Please Read Carefully):
This is a raw, vintage reading copy. The magazine is 100% complete. The front cover presents well with bright colors, but exhibits minor edge wear and light color-breaking stress ticks near the spine fold. The spine shows standard reading wear, including visible stress ticks and color rubbing. The back cover exhibits a prominent physical flaw: there is a distinct white circular stain/surface abrasion on the mid-left side, along with general surface scuffing and edge wear across the dark background. It has not been professionally graded. Please review all photos carefully before purchasing.
