The Sonic Architects of the South.

Released in April 1998, this powerful issue of Rap Pages shines a much-deserved spotlight on Organized Noize—the legendary Atlanta production trio (Rico Wade, Ray Murray, Sleepy Brown) responsible for the sound of OutKast, Goodie Mob, TLC, and the entire Dungeon Family.

Featuring highly provocative cover art (the crew posing in front of an oak tree, recontextualizing the Confederate flag under the banner of "The Nat Turner Orchestra"), this issue is a culturally significant piece of Southern hip-hop history. The magazine also features an exclusive on Goodie Mob, a ride-along with West Coast heavyweight WC, and a retrospective on the classic TV show A Different World. (Bonus: The back cover features a vibrant 1998 comic-style advertisement for Menace Clothing).

Condition Disclosure (Please Read):

This is a raw, vintage reading copy in "Very Good" condition. The magazine is 100% complete. The front cover presents well but exhibits color-breaking edge wear along the spine fold, as well as minor edge chipping and a slight corner ding on the bottom right. The back cover is clean and vibrant, with minor spine stress and handling dimples along the edge. It has not been professionally graded. Please review all photos carefully before purchasing.
